ONLINE EXHIBITION | Digital Princeton University LIbrary | May 2020

Launching as part of the digital initiative response to COVID-19, the online exhibit “Ho! For the Beloved Country” relies on previously digitized material to offer a small glimpse into a topic represented by Princeton University Special Collections.

Through items related to public parks, gardens and landscape design in 19th Century America, this exhibition asks the viewer to consider the radical origins of public space, the promise of the movement and to question the fulfillment of that promise over time.

This exhibition was created as part of the development and launch of a larger program to work with and promote digital collections at Princeton Special Collection.

The Digital Princeton University Library exhibitions are crafted using Stanford Library’s Spotlight software.
